“CarPlay not available” when getting in after remote climate runs

I just got a 2019 E-Pace SE P250. Twice now I have had my remote climate running from my app and when I get in my car, I plug my iPhone in and it says CarPlay not available. It plays through media but not CarPlay. It won’t reset until I turn the car completely off and back on. The infotainment has to reset basically. Any ideas about this?
